What Is An Integrative Approach To Health Coaching?

An integrative health coach is a trained allied health professional who can assist and empower you to make those important lifestyle changes that lay the foundation for optimal health. Change isn’t easy, which is why integrative health coaches, like Lacy Bennett, take the time to listen to you, work with you to create a personalized integrative coaching program, and provide ongoing support and guidance to help you achieve your unique goals. As your integrative health coach, Lacy will provide clinically-relevant information and help you navigate the often confusing world of contradictory nutrition and health advice.

Integrative health coaches have a distinct set of talents and skills. Unlike life or executive coaches, integrative health coaches are fully focused on health and well-being. And they are not health educators per se, so no long lectures.

Rather, they are experts in helping you find your inner motivation and excitement for the changes you want to make. In this respect, they take a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means that they look at how all areas of your life are connected. Does stress at your job or in your relationship cause you to overeat? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising? As you and Lacy work together, you gain insight on how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole.

This approach does not dwell on calories, carbs, fats, and proteins. Instead, an integrative coach works with clients to create a happy, healthy life in a way that is flexible, fun and rewarding.

Together we’ll work to reach your health goals in areas such as achieving optimal weight, reducing food cravings, increasing sleep, and maximizing energy. As we work together, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of the food and lifestyle choices that work best for you and implement lasting changes that will improve your energy, balance and health.

Integrative Health Coaching Program

The integrative coaching program that Lacy provides is a personalized three, six, nine, or twelve month transformational approach which includes integrating foundational modules like those outlines below into your lifestyle. These include:

Integrative Nutrition® Plate

The Integrative Nutrition Plate emphasizes the importance of local and organic produce, whole grains, high-quality proteins, plant-based fats, and water. It shows you how a plate should appear at mealtime and emphasizes the importance of proportions and portion size. To complete the picture, the plate is surrounded with lifestyle factors that create optimal health: relationship, career, physical activity and spirituality. Integrative coaching introduces you the concept who eating whole foods and teaches you how to find what’s healthiest for your unique body!

Primary Food™

It’s easy to overlook all of the things that contribute to our sense of nourishment and fulfillment. It’s not just the food we eat that affects our health, but all of the other factors present in our daily lives. Healthy relationships, a fulfilling career, regular physical activity, and a spiritual awareness are essential forms of nourishment. When these “primary foods” are balanced, what you eat becomes secondary. Integrative coaching supports you in achieving all of your goals, from eating the right foods for your body to living an inspired, fulfilling life.


The concept of bio-individuality is the idea that each of us has unique food and lifestyle needs. One person’s food is another person’s poison, and that’s why fad diets tend to fail in the long run. Working on the principle of bio-individuality, integrative coaching supports you to make positive changes that are based on your unique needs, lifestyle, preferences, and ancestral background.

Crowding Out

Many nutrition experts give their clients a list of foods to avoid and foods to eat, which explains why so many people are turned off by nutrition. This approach is different – by eating and drinking foods that are good for you, you will naturally have less room and desire for unhealthy foods. Simply put, you will “crowd out” the unhealthy food in your diet. This takes a little practice to make happen, but your coach will support you all the way.

Deconstructing Cravings

Cravings play a critical role in understanding what your body needs and shouldn’t be ignored. When you learn how to deconstruct your cravings and understand what they’re really telling you, you will be able to reclaim a sense of balance and harmony.

Integrative coaching through Ignite will help you to make lifestyle changes and choose health-promoting ways that produce real and lasting results. You will develop a deeper understanding of food and lifestyle choices that work best for you, improving your energy, balance, health, and happiness.

Each session is designed to leave you feeling inspired and motivated. The sessions will include topics beyond food, seeking to bring balance to important elements of your life. Your coach will personally and carefully guide you to make simple, small changes that can transform your life.

Meal Planning

Depending on your needs, Lacy will provide pre-made and personalized meal plans. Meal planning helps take the pressure off of you, making meal time easier. All meal plans include detailed recipes, shopping list, cooking instructions and simple meal planning education.

Pre-made and personalized meal plans are available for established clients on request or by email for a $15-$25 fee depending on complexity and personalization of meal plan.

Personalized meal plans require a 30-minute consultation with Lacy in office or by phone. Please bring a short list of preferred fruits, vegetables and entrees to assist in the planning process.

Kitchen Pantry Cleanse

This personalized, in depth service is an excellent way to make a commitment to reaching your lifestyle goals and setting your home up for success in making lasting changes. The cleanout is essential to starting a new lifestyle such as going gluten, dairy, soy or GMO free. During the session you will learn about cost effective meals, reading nutrition and ingredient labels, staples to have on hand, menu ideas and healthier alternatives.

Grocery Store Guidance

Learn about making healthier choices, introducing new foods, how to read nutrition and ingredient labels, and identifying key staples to have on hand.  These new skills will initiate a paradigm shift in the kitchen, enriching your life and create awareness. Grocery Store Guidance is best combined with the Kitchen Pantry Cleanse.

Prepaid discount packages are available at an hourly rate.

3 months: Includes two hour sessions per month for three months: $390

6 months: Includes two hour sessions per month for six months: $750
